Logistics Company
Assessment for Cloud Migration
The customer, a South Africa-based logistics company with the primary focus on Industrial Equipment and Services and Consumer Industries, approached one of Corent’s partners, seeking their expertise in carrying out a complete scan and assessment of its data centers to generate an optimum Cloud migration feasibility report.
Corent’s partner sought to deliver Cloud assessment services to its customer through MaaS. The partner assessed the customer’s data centers using MaaS and generated detailed reports. The reports, explaining the Cloud migration feasibilities for the data centers and their servers, were shared with the customer.

Challenges:
Discovering IP addresses to identify list servers available on the network/data centers.
Identifying the Cloud feasibility for the discovered IP addresses.
Pinpointing the dependencies between servers, i.e., communication between them.
Zeroing-in on the application groups available in the data centers.
Determining the cost and charting out a migration plan.
Solution:
The IP addresses were found using subnet discovery.
MaaS used the scanned data to identify the Cloud feasibility and created a detailed report on Cloud migration.
MaaS retrieved the communication ports, along with the process information, based on which the dependency between servers were identified.
Move group strategy analysis report provided by MaaS helped to identify the application groups in the data centers.
The detailed reports generated by MaaS possess sufficient information about the TCO, besides offering relevant migration advisories and recommendations. It also offers various strategies for better migration planning.
Result:
Assessment and migration feasibility reports were shared with the customer for better migration planning.
