Housing Sector
Assessment for Cloud Migration
The customer – one of the largest housing associations in London and the southeast – is an amalgam of two well-established housing associations providing affordable homes across a range of tenures. The customer wanted to scan and assess their datacenter in EMEA region. They approached one of Corent’s partners seeking their expertise in charting out an optimum migration strategy.
Corent’s partner used MaaS to offer Cloud assessment services to its customer. The partner scanned and assessed the customer’s datacenter using MaaS and generated reports with detailed recommendations and advisories. The reports with a detailed analysis of Cloud migration feasibilities for the servers were shared with the customer.

Challenges:
Carrying out an Agentless scan and limiting the scan duration to clamp down on resource cost.
Conducting a feasibility analysis across three Cloud providers.
Extracting actionable data from reports while addressing multiple 'what-if' scenarios.
Migration planning and determination of application groups.
Cloud cost analysis for migration planning.
Solution:
MaaS used the Agentless scan approach, which does not require installation on devices and reaches out to assets from the server under scan; a single Vanguard (bridge) was used by MaaS parallelly to complete scan within the timeframe to bring down resource cost.
MaaS has the capability to generate feasibility report for various Cloud providers in a single analysis.
MaaS delivered reports in multiple formats to keep a tab on emergent ‘what-if’ scenarios during migration across multiple Cloud providers.
MaaS provided Strategic Move Group analysis to help customers predict application groups for migration plan.
TCO analysis across three Cloud providers was provided to the customer for better migration planning.
Result:
The partner helped the customer to analyze their data center and formulate their migration strategy.
